Music lovers have been spoiled for choice at Melbourne Park this winter, with an eight-night gig fest delivering world-class music and hospitality to the precinct.
Over 70,000 guests enjoyed the run of shows, which kicked off with Glass Animals in late July and was followed by official Splendour in the Grass sideshows from Gorillaz, The Strokes, Liam Gallagher and Yungblud, plus headline tours from Louis Tomlinson and Tyler, The Creator.
But it was about more than just the music this winter, with guests treated to Melbourne Park’s very own take on the festival experience, as Rod Laver Arena’s rooftop bar, the Upper Deck, was transformed into an eclectic, festival-inspired wonderland.
Melbourne hospitality icons Mr. Miyagi and The Everleigh kept guests well fed and watered, while nightly DJs ensured the pre-show vibes were high.
While the run of Winter Gigs might be over, the precinct remains as Melbourne’s home of live events, with a full program of sports and entertainment to come for the remainder of the year.
Music fans have Gang Of Youths, KISS, Flume and The Lumineers to look forward to (to name a few!), while Chris Rock, DreamHack, Monster Jam and the return of the A-League and NBL seasons will ensure Melbourne & Olympic Parks continues to deliver events for everyone.
