The New Orleans Pelicans will play two preseason games against NBL teams in Melbourne this October, marking the NBA’s first games in Australia.
The Pelicans will take on Melbourne United and South East Melbourne Phoenix at Rod Laver Arena on Friday 3 October, and Sunday 5 October 2025. Beyond the games, the NBA, NBL, and the Pelicans will host NBA Cares community outreach initiatives and lifestyle events throughout the week.
The Pelicans’ roster features two-time NBA All-Star Zion Williamson, 2022 NBA All-Star Dejounte Murray, and 2015-16 Kia NBA Most Improved Player CJ McCollum.

- There are several options for your journey to Rod Laver Arena:
- Public transport is the quickest and easiest option. Before you attend, plan ahead and allow extra travel time for any major disruptions.
- Parking is available at the Eastern Plaza Car Park (Entrance D, Olympic Boulevard). We strongly recommend pre-booking as drive-up spaces are subject to availability. Bookings close at midnight the night before the event.
- To ensure a smooth entry into the venue, download your tickets to your digital wallet before arriving.
- Bags must be A4 size or smaller, and backpacks are not permitted. Enhanced bag checks are in place, and all accepted bags will be x-rayed and tagged before entry, so consider leaving your bag at home unless essential. Guests with medical requirements may bring a larger bag.
- Cloaking is available at Kia Arena. All accepted items will be subject to a canine search, so consider leaving non-essential items at home. Any prohibited items listed in the venue Conditions of Entry will not be accepted for cloaking.
- Note: Additional prohibited items for this event include backpacks, drinks (including water bottles), flags, banners and signs larger than 18 inches in length, and prams.
- All retail outlets are cashless. Any transactions must be made using a credit or debit card.
