Rod Laver Arena turns ringside for epic day of bouts

The eyes of the boxing world were on Melbourne in October, with the highly anticipated Devin Haney vs George Kambosos Jr. rematch bout taking place at Rod Laver Arena.  

The Melbourne & Olympic Parks precinct was abuzz with lead-in functions ahead of the main event, with the official ‘face off’, press conference and weigh-in taking place across Rod Laver Arena and Tennis HQ.  

Guests were spoilt for choice when it came to premium food and beverage experiences, with many enjoying the pre-event function at CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park, before being treated to the ultimate back-of-house experience as they made their way through to Rod Laver Arena for the action.  

The undercard bouts got the crowd going, with boxing fans creating an electric atmosphere inside the venue. And the main event did not disappoint, with Devin Haney retaining his undisputed lightweight champion status in a closely-fought contest against local favourite, George Kambosos Jr.  

There’s plenty to look forward to for the remainder of the year at Rod Laver Arena, including the likes of Dua Lipa, Crowded House, The Wiggles, Kendrick Lamar, Michael Bublé, The Killers and Keith Urban.
